Where We Are

I've been just hacking away on prototype.ongaku.club and haven't really put much thought into where we are going. I've been just working on things as they pop into my mind. Here is a breakdown of what we have now...

• Album page with HTML audio player

• Artist page with links to releases

• Home page with 8 albums and pagination

• Placeholder releases

• Scrobble to teal.fm

• Post favorites to Bluesky

• Basic account settings (turn sharing on and off)

Where We Are Going

I have several feature branches in the works for the site, here are just a few things coming soon...

• Album upload

• Label page that contains artists

• Role based access

• Homepage updated to latest albums first

• Real releases

• Additional meta tags and structured data for machines to read the album and artist pages better

The Future

We're going to need to add purchasing sooner rather then later but that's still being worked on...

• Scrobble to listenbrainz.org?

• Bsky posts as comments on albums

• Purchasing music (Using Stripe probably)

• Downloading music (MP3s, Flac maybe?)

• Onboarding documentation for labels/artists

• Maybe... just maybe a phone version of the site?

• Open source some parts of the code? (Would be nice)

I think that's a pretty good spot to leave it. There is a lot of work to be done so maybe I'll get back to it!
